EXPERIANCE

My experiances working with children are extensive in various areas. I have worked at places such as summer camps, nurseries, bible studies, coaching staff and as a personal tutor. Each and every one of these experiances have furthered my passion to work with children and have taught me valuable skills that have molded me into who I am today.

Camp Briarwood

The past 6 summers of my life have been spent working with children from 3rd - 9th grade at Camp Briarwood. I attened camp when I was a camper and continued on working as a counselor as I got older. Working here taught me about how incredible and amazing the world around us is. That there is always something new to learn about the nature and people around us. Working here has also taught me how valuable colaboration can be. While working and living with the same staff for multiple weeks, colaboration and clear communication is key.

Coaching Experiance

I have spend the past few fall and spring seasons coaching at the Auburn Rec Center. In the fall I coach a 3rd-5th grade girls basketball team, and in the spring I coach a 5th-6th grade girls volleyball team. I do this not only because I enjoy the sport. but because I learned growing up that being a part of a team can teach incredibly valuable skills and I want to be a part of that for other young girls. Being a part of a team teaches valuable skills like communication, colaboration and leadership skills all while staying healthy and having fun.

Camp Covenant

I have had the tremendous opprotunity for the past few summers of working with a chuch in fayetteville, Ga. at a day camp for kids ages 4-14. This was such a unique experiance because it is a growing camp and I have been able to be there for the founding years. I have seen it grow from a one week missoins trip to an eight week full on summer camp. Last summer I worked for five weeks with children aged 4 and 5. It was a crazy summer full of many learning opprotunities and challenges. These young kids taught me what it is like to see the wonder in everything around us every thing around us even in the small things like catching turtles and learning how to cannoe. These summers full of children have taught me how important it is to be flexible and to be able to think on your feet. By handling eighteen four year olds I learned how valuable it is handle chaotic situations with poise and ease.

Lesson Plans:

During my time spent at Auburn University I put together many lesson plans in practice and preperation for a future in education. You can view these lessons here.
